Unpaid Internship

Position Title: Part-time Employee – Intern Department: Faculty Classification: Non-Exempt/Part-time (unpaid) Reports To: Academic Dean

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this employee is to observe the educational environment at The Cambridge School of Dallas and contribute to the effectiveness of said environment as determined by the Head of School and Academic Dean. This may involve classroom observation, substitute teaching, attendance at faculty and other meetings, performance of MiC duties, and any other duties agreed upon as part of the student’s internship and required for fulfillment of his or her degree program. An intern should demonstrate a gift for teaching, a competence in his or her primary academic disciple, and a genuine love for educating students. The pedagogy of the intern is to communicate the love of a subject so that an average student can achieve understanding, demonstrate comprehension, and show an appreciation of the subject.

Job Duties:

· Ability to prepare and deliver a course lecture when required as a substitute teacher.

· Ability to follow instructions from the teacher of record as a substitute teacher.

· Manage classroom, including behavior issues, as a substitute teacher.

· Attend and participate in faculty meetings as agreed upon with Academic Dean.

Minimum Educational Background: College degree required.

Previous Related Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred. Interest in Christian classical education and educational administration required.

Working Conditions:

· This position is a part-time unpaid position which requires regular on-campus presence.

· Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
