Assistant Athletic Director
Position Title: Assistant Athletic Director Department: Administration
Classification: Exempt/Full-Time Reports To: Athletic Director
Position Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director reports directly to the Athletic Director and is responsible for exercising leadership in school-wide athletic programs, including: teaching P.E., innovation, program improvement, communication, and administrative procedures. This individual works with the AD to ensure compliance with all requirements issued by governing bodies as pertaining to athletic programs, activities, or personnel management.
Job Duties:
· Oversight and implementation of school athletic programs, including communication methods to the community.
· Preparation and administration of annual athletic budget with Head of School and Business & Facilities Manager.
· Assist with the organization, and help with athletic events, including athletic fundraising or community events.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implementing programs to safeguard coaches, trainers, and athletes.
· Establish and maintain an effective system for verifying student athletic eligibility, including engagement with the school’s student-integrated system (SIS), Blackbaud Education Management.
· Oversee facilities for teams, including fields, gyms, tracks, courts, equipment, etc.
· Ability to coach 1-3 sports throughout the year.
· Act as a liaison and ensure compliance with and maintain relationships with TAPPS and other athletics governing bodies.
· Development and management of Athletic Handbook.
· General care, coordination, and operation of school vehicles; ensuring cooperation with schools’ fleet policy, which includes daily driving to and from games and practices.
Minimum Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree
Previous Related Experience: 4+ years in school-based athletic programs, TAPPS experience preferred, but not required.

- Ability to maintain confidential and positive working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, school and community organizations, and the public.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, vehicle operation, budget development tools, and technology related to communication and data analysis.
- A valid and regularly maintained first aid and CPR certification issued by an authorized agency is preferred.
- Compliance with all job requirements and conduct as stated in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.
- Agreement with the CSD Doctrinal Statement and School Mission and Vision.
- Ability to lead and manage personnel under his or her supervision.
- Availability to work different hours throughout the day from A.M.-P.M.
- This is a full-time, exempt position requiring work on evenings and weekends as well as regular travel related to athletic competitions and practices.
- Working at a desk and computer as well as frequent activities requiring physical exertion, including but not limited to standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, exercising, and driving.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time, exempt position requiring work on evenings and weekends as well as regular travel related to athletic competitions and practices.
- Transportation is a critical piece of this position; this position requires a significant amount of driving students to game and practice locations.
